In the continuing theme of how the internet and digital communications have affected reading, I am intrigued to see that Walrus magazine continues in the tradition of ‘long journalism.’

Guess what, it takes work, intentional effort, to read Walrus articles, most of which are pages long of articulate, cogently crafted, and well transitioned clauses that eventually connect to Big Ideas worthy of continued discussion, even debate.

I wonder….if I’m having to purposefully make myself slow down and read deeply, what about people who don’t read well in the first place? That said, is reading the only way to think deeply?

Grateful for:

  • finishing promotion meetings
  • sending staff to Why Try
  • flourishing raspberry patch

Curious about:

  • the Human Rights Tribunal in Ontario
  • cognitive coaching
