iPod iTouch iPhone iTunes iCryptic iCynic

I’m still trying to figure out how to get all my iTunes music (legally purchased, of course) back onto our computers, the new ones. Naturally, all we once had is now no longer available.

For all the rhetoric about how friendly Apple and Macs are, I have to say that I’m not a real fan at the moment. iTunes and associated devices are beginning to act way too proprietary these days. There’s no easy way to restore that which was lost. Furthermore, despite the current hype about the iPad (clearly men chose that name) it’s looking more and more like a glorified iTouch with no print capabilities, no saving mechanism, and no Flash player, to name only a few missing components.

I’m presently cynical enough to sigh deeply, long for the lost hours from today’s explorations into bits and bytes, and hope that tomorrow will be an easier day. Toss a bit of Windows 7 into the mix, including the perfectly fine but ever so slightly older printer that talks nicely to XP and not 7, and you’ll get a sense for the computer frustration of today…and I’m usually a persistant optimist in these sorts of things.

Grateful for:

  • purposeful and beautiful Easter service today

Curious about:

  • The Bean Bar
