Bill 157

There’s a new Bill, 157 to be exact, that comes into effect on February 1, 2010. “Keeping Our Kids Safe at School” requires ALL people employed by a school district to play a role in addressing issues of inappropriate student behaviour and to help improve school tone and climate, and to protect victims. There are additional reporting expectations of, it seems, all employees, and the bottom line is to make sure students are safe.

Grateful for:

  • Restorative Justice which has an improved chance of reducing our need to report in the first place
  • hockey moms

Curious about:

  • how will we get all the paperwork down
  • who will file all of the paperwork?
  • will the paperwork make a difference in student safety?
