GR8 GALA

What an awesome night. We invited our Gr 8 prospective students and parents to a GALA and many of them came, more than ever before.

So, what did I learn?

  • if you make things sound professional people will pay attention
  • ticketmaster tickets cost very little money but look classy and help people think your event is high-quality (which ours was!)
  • people like to work hard if they feel like they’re on a team and that the event is meaningful and has value
  • people love to eat so good food and plenty of it makes for a fun time…and when in doubt, err to the abundance side of things
  • student jazz bands can set a great tone for an event…upbeat, perky, fun, and inviting

Grateful for:

  • our staff whose skills all came together on a team
  • people with diverse talents who are all willing to contribute their best
  • students who chose honesty and courage in spite of potential fallout

Curious about:

  • how to organize lots of little pieces of data…I’m good at the big picture stuff but not as skilled at the fine print
  • our author visit tomorrow (Cathy Vasas-Brown)
